The applicant completes a form with product information to request certification.
Product certification is a conformity assessment process conducted by a body accredited by Inmetro’s General Accreditation Coordination. This body verifies that products meet specific safety, quality, and performance standards in accordance with the norms and ordinances that govern the certifications provided by IEx. Certification ensures that manufacturers, sellers, and importers market their products in compliance with regulatory requirements.
To obtain the desired certification from IEx for your sector and product, you must meet all the specified requirements. This will enhance your company’s credibility, increase consumer confidence, and strengthen your position in the competitive market.
The applicant completes a form with product information to request certification.
IEx reviews the application and product data, and may request additional documents.
Following the analysis, IEx provides a commercial proposal to the applicant with details and pricing for the initial certification process.
Audit stage of the quality management system and evaluation of the production process.
At this stage, IEx requests the collection of samples, if applicable, for product testing in an accredited laboratory.
Analysis of the test and audit reports, decision on certification, and issuance of the Certificate, which authorizes the use of the Inmetro/IEx conformity stamp. With this, your product is ready for sale in the Brazilian market, and the certification will remain valid as long as the mandatory maintenance stages are followed.
